Homecoming Picnic This Saturday

Dear Brothers:

Sorry for the late notice, but we are going to hold the alumni picnic this year at the house at 11 Eben St. from 3-5 p.m.

This is basically a post-game get together with actives and alumni. Please contact me if you are a definite or on the bubble to ensure we have enough food. My email is rsds129@hotmail.com.

In lieu of building a float this year, the chapter and their partner, Alpha Sigma Alpha, are focusing their efforts on a philanthropic project to support an ASA’s family member living with muscular dystrophy. Please contact Sage Marc Marinoff at marino38@students.rowan.edu on how you can support this effort.

We will also collect funds during the picnic.

Charity Bocce Tournament on Nov. 10

Hello Everyone,  

Ralph DeSimone is hosting a charity bocce ball tournament at his home on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m.  

The entrance is $20 per team of two or $10 for free agents who need a partner. I’ll have some light food and beverages. This is purely a fun and informal tournament with no prize money. Just a worthy cause. All proceeds benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Alumni Breakfast on Sept. 23

You are invited to a Sigma Pi Alumni Breakfast at Rowan University.

Please join us on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 10 am in the Rowan Student Center Ballroon for a NJ area alumni and undergraduate breakfast and roundtable discussion.

This breakfast is held in conjunction with the New Jersey Province Workshop for all NJ Sigma Pi Chapters.

This is the first time that this regional meeting will be held in Glassboro so please attend to show our support of Zeta Chi chapter.

Alumni Pledging Event March 24th

The second biannual alumni pledge event will be on Saturday March 24th at 13 Eben Street.
Last semester’s event was a lot of fun. Started around 8-8:30 and was full of laughs.

If you have the time, I am sure the actives/pledges would appreciate your presence. It will give you a chance to meet the new guys as well as see some old friends.

Alumni Club Donates New Ritual Equipment

Just like to let everyone know, the alumni club recently donated new ritual equipment to the chapter. Some of the equipment was damaged and/or missing and needed an update. I would like to thank all the alumni who donated in the past year so this couild happen.  We hope to fund more projects like this in the coming years.

There are still some things the chapter needs such as a new Sigma Pi Flag and officer medallions. If you would like to contribute a little to pay for those items, please feel free to contact me or Mike Kennedy.

New Jersey Alumni Luncheon

Saturday, March 24th at 11:00am, the New Jersey/Long Island Provence Archon is hosting a New Jersey Alumni Luncheon at Monmouth University. The cost is $20 per alumnus with any profit being donated to the Sigma Pi Educational Foundation. The purpose of the luncheon is to meet each other as well as greet Sigma Pi’s Executive Director Mark Briscoe, our Grand Third Counselor Chris Brown, and our Grand Herald Andy Morris.

Get Together - Feb 17th - Glassboro, NJ

The next get together for the Sigma Pi Alumni Club will be at the Landmark Americana (the old Franklin House) in Glassboro.

FEBRUARY 17 - Be there at 8 pm.
RSVP on the boards.

Rush is January 28- February 4th. The chapter has a tentative schedule already … If the alum want to come down and show support that would be awesome. Contact Marc Marinoff through the boards (user name P.I.M.P.) if you want more info.

New Blog Design

I set up a new blog design for the website. This will hopefully allow for more frequent updates and better organized information.

We are looking forward to a great new year for the alumni club.
